Short interruption

So, life has been busy and that's why it has taken me really long to get all the days of our trip up on the blog. I feel like I've got pictures backed up now to share while I've been slowly getting things up. For now though, I'll make a short interruption to post a picture that I'm feeling.... bashful about. I always feel bashful about things, but this one I simply don't know what's bothering me. Is it that I'm not confident?... or are there reasons why I'm not confident about this one? Is it because it's big 3x4 feet and you can't count the spines on each cactus (as I love things to be SUPER realistic and this is more painterly)? I don't know. I thought I would post it on and search for some positive critique time from family and friends. (What I mean by that is... please don't smash my hopes and dreams... but give me some useful thoughts... on both the good and the bad.) The picture was painted on commission for a Spanish courtyard and I just don't want to reveal it to my client and her be disappointed. HELP!

I think it is very nicely done! I would hang it in my Spanish court yard if I had one!

Thanks Odessa for the encouragement.

Did you know that there are quite a variety of turtles native the the spanish courtyard? Like five of them on the path would help me want to put it in my courtyard

Five of them huh? I'll have to think about that. I'm thinking if I'm going to go for five... I might as well make an entire herd... like 100. How about that? Some of them flying even. This picture is getting better every second that goes by! :) Maybe all 100 should be following after a gigantic carrot with legs. I'm totally doing it!

We think it is very nice. The colors are right on for the subject area. The bluffs really draw you to head for them. The sky is dramatic not boring. The plants lifelike and the path has movement to it, like topography should. The only think I might suggest would be an animal or bird. A small roadrunner or as Odessa said a turtle but really it is great without them. I like art that leaves you to wander into it and recall a memory or discover in your own minds eye the flower or animal not painted there. I think Rosa will be pleased. Call her and be done with this comission. We are proud of you punky!

The masses of flying turtles sounds great! Mr. Dali and Mr.Magritte would be proud.

In reality, his painting makes me want to move, as in run down the path. The clouds over head are dark, but up ahead I can see clear sky, or maybe I should just stop at the casa on the mesa for shelter. But maybe if i run I can get to the blue sky. Yeah, I can make it, there is always hope!
