Our house this New Years!

Well... maybe not. Sadly, I don't have any pictures of the evening, but I'll recap....

I decorated the house to look Chinese. Leo and I cooked up a storm of multiple courses of Chinese food..... and we celebrated a Chinese New Year with a few of our friends. We watched a movie, played some games, wore chinese outfits, had tea at midnight and prayed our way into the new year (but not to Buddha! (Because, sorry folks... he's not God.) We then went out and had fireworks.... or rather poppers (which we threw at each other) and the boys used these things called "flutter sticks". Supposedly they were supposed to shoot confetti 20 feet up and it was supposed to flutter five time more than other confetti. Instead it just burst out, blew sideways (rather rapidly), stuck to our cars, and the boys just threw the tubing at each other. At least it made for some good laughs! The next morning Leo and I went out into the rain and swept THOUSANDS of little confetti pieces out of the street and our driveway so it didn't look like we'd had a rip roaring party!

Over all, it was a pretty mellow, good time with friends, and I LOVE praying into the new year. It's the ONLY way to start it off right!!!!!
