Well, last night we had a bit of a scare. Around 11 pm Leo doubles over with these extreme chest pains. He can't discribe them, but they are VERY painful. This continues for about 30 to 45 minutes when I finally say "Get in the car. We are going to the emergency room."

We whisk off to the Dallas Emergency room Leo in extreme pain... yet still capable of informing me of how I'm driving. We get the the emergency room and they immediately have him hooked up to machines, drawing blood, probes stuck all over his body. I'm left in the front to fill out paperwork.

They finally show me back and the nurse says he'll probably be discharging him in a few minutes. I'm thinking.... that was a fast diagnosis for something obviously so painful.

The culprit of the pain?

Apparently there is a muscle that runs directly under your pectoral area, and when worked hard enough or over what it should be can go into extreme muscle spasms up to a day after the disruptive event. I'm imagining like a leg cramp (I get those all the time in the night) but in the chest, that last for a really long time.

Leo's been really working out hard lately, and yesterday he did another dose of these "chair push-ups" (but did them without warming up to it) along with his weight lifting, and then left to play basketball at church. I'm thinking he over did it and didn't know.

So we headed home.... took some drugs, and after a while Leo was able to get comfortable enough (they died down) to get some sleep.

So there it is.... our eventful evening!

I have always said exercise will kill you. I am glad that it turned out to be something minor even though it came with major pain.
Take it easier Leo.
