Monmouth doesn't collect yard debris so Leo always empties our grass clippings on the side of the house where nobody can see it. It's kind of our compost heap but it seems to be growing more that composting. We have a little gate the close up the are so the dogs don't go over as I think our yard snakes have taken up residence in the mulch (Leo ran it over AGAIN yesterday with the lawn mower. We either have a whole army of little snakes, or a nine headed snake crawling around here somewhere!). Today Koda pushed the gate to the side and tromped his way through the mulch and other various things that have taken root over there. When he came back in he had a face (and legs/paws) full of little briars. Some might know them as stickers or smaller versions of goat heads. I picked all of them out by hand... much to both of our dislike. Poor little guy!
