Sick boy...

So the beginning of the week started with Leo almost passing out at the school as he helped attempt to install the new playground equipment. (The marking of the beginning of the flu). The day ended with him laying on the floor of the fireside room in front of the fireplace. The next few days followed with 102 temperatures and shaking like he was in a bucket of ice. We went in on Monday to the Dr. and sure enough... they can't do anything about it... but gotta wait it out. The cold then turned into a cold.... the cold then turned into an ear infection. Thursday (thankfully) it snowed and we were blessed with a snow day. I say thankfully because around 1 we had an emergency trip off to the Urgent care in Salem. Leo was in EXTREME pain and his ear infection felt like it was going to explode his ear drum. The Dr. was about to give some numbing agent and meds (now he's on the antibiotics). That night though.... his ear drum ruptured. Just for the sake of never forgetting I'll describe the event. We are driving back from Dallas, Leo is in excruciating pain, and all of a sudden I hear what sounds like a peeled orange between two books being slammed together. Or imagine a small section of somebodies brain exploding. I half expected to have to clean things off the passenger window. I swerve and am trying to keep my cool as Leo is screaming "Holy Crap" over and over in the car. This was the moment of ear drum explosion. Not fun for me and REALLY not fun for Leo. Since then he has had the joys of Vertigo (highly exciting)and his ear has yet to stop draining some sort of radio active fluid. Tomorrow he returns to work for the first time in a week. He says he's going to lock himself in the office with a double lined trash can. I hope he gets to getting better soon. The Dr. says it should take 2 weeks for his ear to heal (hopefully without any permanent hearing damage.) Ugh.
