Day 11

We got up early and were on a mission to find a Cracker Barrel. We'd had deep cravings for it, and unlike the state of Kentucky and Tennessee, this restaurant is NOT on every third exit. Finally found it and headed to Gettysburgh. Upon arrival we went to the tourist center and (though difficult to drag Leo out) we finally left with a auto tour cd. Popped it in and off we went. Gettysburgh was truly an eye opening experience. We'd never seen so many (literally thousands) of different monuments, memorials, statues, markers on a 25 mile area. Literally every few feet HUGE monuments with intricate detail and amazing sculptures. Some as small as markers, others whole castle and parthnon type buildings. You truly can't image Gettysburgh until you go see it. We HIGHLY recommend the cd auto tour because you can go at your own pace, and there is NO WAY you could do this in a short amount of time. We were so glad we set aside the entire day for Gettysburgh. Only thing we would change is making sure we had BOTH the cd's when we left the tourist center. It would have saved us a lot of time if we hadn't had to track back and let them know of the absence of it!











I don't think we got any pictures, but I had to laugh at the segway tours of Gettysburgh. It's just really hilarious to see people on those things wearing undersized helmets in large herds.

After a long hard day at the battle field we headed back to good ol' Cracker Barrel. Mmmm we love that place!

We then headed back to Washington DC. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency in Crystal City. On the back of our door it said "maximum cost for this room is $680 per night". What did we get through priceline?... $60. What did the lady in the spa pay for her room?... $210. Sorry lady in the spa.
