This morning we had some good friends over (Gaye and Mike). Gaye is the new principal for MVCA and she has a business for landscape consulting. She is a truly amazing woman, and her husband is the silent workforce, yet also a strong leader as well. People to totally look up to! Anyway, they came over this morning and gave us tips on how to care for the yard. She also brought me some starters for some plants in our yard. I truly have NO IDEA what I'm doing out there, and I'm hoping I don't create a huge yard of dead things. I've been planting perennials like mad, and though I can't seem to remember any of their scientific names, I'm hoping that I'm putting them in the correct place. We'll see!! After they left I planted while Leo transported rock into the yard. We gave the pups hair cuts (desperately needed!) and then decided to take them down to the Willamette River (down where we used to live in Keizer) and ride our bikes along the paths and horse routes. We spent about an hour biking and got the dogs good and tired. As I type this they are passed out on the floor next to me. They did a great job and we really enjoyed the peaceful ride along the river. Besides the aspect of seasonal allergies.... Oregon is truly beautiful this time of year. That is if you can see it through your sealed shut eyes, repetitive sneezes, and throbbing head. Ugh.... I'm including a picture of Leo and the pups, but have excluded any of me as I look like I've been ran over a couple times by the Pollen Pick-up.
