Last week was a busy week. Tuesday was MVCA's open house, which went well, Wednesday was school and parent teacher conferences for me, and all day Thursday was conferences too. Thursday Leo and I met in Keizer (where my school is) to have dinner together. He brought the dogs since they were all cooped up in the house. The plan was that he was going to empty out some stuff that I had to return from the Winter formal out of the car and bring the pups in the back. He ended up not having time to empty out the car, so the dogs were put in the front seat. We met in the parking lot and Leo asked if we could trade vehicles. We did, and after dinner I headed back for conferences. After conferences I headed out to the car. As I left the building I passed through a group men that sometimes come to the school and play basketball on their outside court. There was a little kid on a tricycle zipping around amongst them on the court. I got into the car, and looked into the rear view mirror to see three of our couches talking in the parking lot. Leo had the music on low. I turned on the car, put it in revearse and began backing out. Out of the corner of my eye I spotted something and slammed on the breaks. I looked up into the rear view mirror to see the three coaches looking agast. I looked into my side mirror as I began turning my head... and the little kid came cycling out from under my rear back tire. My stomach dropped, and I realized ~If I had been in the van, I would have just ran over this child. I would have been too high up to see.
I'm so glad that God has plans for us. Sometimes we don't realize His workings until we are right in the center of it. Sometimes we don't understand His plans. I was thankful that He placed just the right things in place to protect this child and myself.
I've been needing a good dose of knowing His control... and HIS plans. Leo and I keep staring at each other, and as the idea of kids keep coming up, we wonder what His plans are. How will we get there? Will we get there? Where does HE want us?..... Sometimes you don't know until you are right in the center of it, and His plans are always best. What a reassurance.
In the meantime, we keep our eyes and ears open, searching, persuing, and waiting.

Wowsers, friend! Definitely a wonderful reminder that God allows things to happen for a reason.
