Well, today, just before turning down our road to get home I saw the blue and red lights flashing.... AGAIN. Apparently you can get a ticket for driving through a yellow light. I don't know about you... but this seems like a new law to me. I guess since I was half through the light and sped up (not over the speed limit, I might add), that a yellow light should be treated as a red light. All I could think was.... "I'm being obedient to the law... I'm on a six month probation from the mistake in speed over the summer.... I have a great driving record... what is up with these police men around here?" The ticket doesn't have a dollar amount, but I still need to go to court. I am afraid the previous ticket will go on my record and now the insurance go up from it. The officer was nice..... but even when I said the light was yellow his response was that it should be considered a red. Needless to say after a long day, and being obedient to the law, I'm a little torked. I think I will challenge this one in court. So frustrating!
On a different note.... today my art classes got into the Keizer Times and the Statesman Journal for a simple project we started the year out with. It was a REALLY simple little start out the year project, but still exciting to get into the paper! When I get the articles I'll post them!

Jenny,
I feel so bad for you. I think you should challenge this in court. It's not the law and its not right. Your mom and I are praying you can get some reprieve from from trying to pack 50 lb of activities into a 5 lb bag. We love you lots and at least hope you find a little joy in that. dad
I felt sorry for you even before I read your blog. I passed you pulled over yesterday. So sorry!
Being another Independence/ Monmouth-ite - I would have to say the officers in this town are just bored. We really don't have a lot of crime (except meth), and I think the officers have nothing better to do than to get nit-picky about traffic things.
We have a friend drop some stuff off at our house a few months ago and he had a headlight out, he got pulled over in Monmouth on the way over AND in Independence on the way home! See boredom.
Maybe I will do some real illegal stuff so the officers will lighten up a little. Well probably not.
Good luck in court, you did nothing wrong and if the time should ever arise, I would still ride with you :).
that is lame. sorry about that. very cool for being in the paper.
