Day 1 of the Adventure

The first day of our trip we went to Lincoln City Oregon and then turned north to Tilamook. You might be familiar with Tilamook because of it's cheese and ice cream. We went to the factory and bought some yummy ice cream and cheese curds and continued our travels west to a little place called Oceanside Beach. This is a hidden gem. Supposedly it has an arch, but we couldn't see it because of the massive amount of fog we were having on the coast. Inland it was a 103 with clear hotness... on the beach, a balmy 65 degrees. When we first arrived we ran into a father and son in their wetsuits. Tons of people were out surfboard sailing, and this dad was taking his son out for the first time. The waves were crashing and I asked the little boy if he was going to stand on the board. He said yes and I said his daddy was going to have to take pictures. I think the plan was just to splash around today. We passed by them once and the kiddo was crying (perhaps because he wasn't going immediately out onto the surf board), the second time we passed the little boy was practicing a run, down on knees and slide position. Too cute. I couldn't resist taking a picture of the father son scene.

We walked up and down the beach and then noticed this funny hole/cave in the land mass in front of us. Upon approaching it we realized that there was a blast through and the cave led one to the other side and a whole new secluded beach that was absolutely breathe taking.

Pretty neat. I'm not sure I would have had the nerve to explore it. Sure glad You didn't get caught with high tide. (as you later learned about high tides!!!)
