Idea's

Becoming a mom I feel the need to heighten my sense of home craftiness and creativity. I've been searching on line for fun stuff to do with your kids and creative ways of managing things. Maybe it's the art teacher inside of me... and perhaps this will be my greatest set of lesson plans ever. Anyways... I've been finding all sorts of fun ideas and need a place to post some of the printables... so don't look to hard because you might end up getting one of these fun ideas as a gift someday! Perhaps I'll have to create a totally separate blog for just those ideas. So many of my friends are having their babies. I am so curious as to what our little Ruth~Ann will look like. I tried to morph these two photos together and came up with a freakish looking child. I figured it was best to just look at them separately and imagine rather than overlay them as the end result reminded me more of Chunk from The Goonies.

Lumberjack Leo

My man chopping the wood for our firepit. Just struck me as funny in his glasses, button up shirt, basketball shorts, and flip flops.... with his axe and gloves. We've been enjoying out firepit.... and I think Leo likes making fire.

Trinity Ann

Amazing. That's all I can really say. My friends are having their babies and it truly is absolutely amazing. To hold these little beings that are straight from the hands of God. As we draw closer I get more and more anxious to look into little Ruthie's face and discover our own little miracle. It all seems so surreal. It's easier for me to believe that my friends are having children than us. God grant us your wisdom as we become stewards of your precious creation. Just amazing.

Showered!

Leo's coworkers threw us a diaper shower. Rules were to bring diapers and the most creatively packaged received a prize. These are just a few examples. The cake was filled with all sorts of other things too like bottles and lotions. The crib actually has the diaper box as the base (under the doll) and the 3 wheeler was the winner as I'd never seen one like it before. We also had funny games. Leo had to perform daily tasks while taking care of baby tasks on Simeon (the girl doll) (This doll was named my Heidi- one of the Kershner kids.) It was all pretty humorous and Leo did a great job. My favorite was "playing peek a boo, while texting Gaye back, and answering the door" Our friends created all sorts of great treats including the Roo cake. My nickname growing up was Roo (from Kanga and Roo in Winnie the Pooh) and we've adopted Ruthie-Ru as a nickname for Ruth~Ann. So here it is... our little Kangaroo. I also thought it was funny because having children like a Kanga has always been so appealing. Just reach into that pocket and pull out a child. Liking that version a lot more than what we have to go through! Jeff also did a devotion that meant a lot to us. Overall it was a great time and we certainly felt loved and blessed by Leo's coworkers. MVCA truly has been family to us. It's been so neat to have so many people the Lord has placed in our lives to show is love.

9 months!

Well here I am... 9 months. 3 weeks to go. 32 pounds heavier. One day at a time... one day at a time.
